The New ASUS Slate

Review: ASUS Eee Slate EP121-1A010M 12.1-Inch Tablet PCThe new ASUS Eee Slate is simply an awesome machine. While some may argue that the iPad is the best tablet, I would easily beg to differ.  The iPad is a toy compared to this full fledged computer that also happens to be a tablet PC.

Some folks with reason ask what can an iPad do?  They ask this because it’s a toy…it cannot do nearly all of the things that a full laptop can do.

However, the ASUS is a full laptop and a tablet.

So, the better question is:  What can the ASUS Slate do?  And the answer is everything because it is a full fledged computer.

Seriously, check out the specs on this thing:

* 12.1″ WSVGA (1280×800) Capacitive LED Touchscreen; Pen or Finger Touch; Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) Operating System

* Intel Core i5-470UM CPU; 4GB of DDR3 1333MHz SDRAM, 1x4GB; 1 slot, 4GB Max; Intel HD Graphics

* 64GB Solid State Drive; Wireless 802.11bgn; Bluetooth 3.0; 2.0MP Webcam; Internal Speaker; Internal Microphone

* Mini HDMI Port; 2 USB 2.0 ports; 2-in-1 Card Reader (SD & MMC); 4 Cell 34W/h Battery (Up to 3 Hours Battery Life)

* Includes Digitizer Pen; Folio Case; Bluetooth Keyboard First off, the processor rules.

This ASUS comes with the Intel Core i5-470UM CPU–this is a quad processor. As Intel stats “this quad-core processor with 4-way multitasking capability delivers extra speed whenever you need it as well as security features to help protect information and data.” And 4GB of memory?

This thing rules over the iPad.

Take a look at this. I just check out the Amazon page for the ASUS slate and this machine receives nearly perfect reviews. Plus, if you are a Windows user (and who isn’t), you don’t need to learn about another operating system. It comes with, and runs just like Windows.

Bottom Line: If you want a tablet that you can actually do something with, that tablet is the ASUS Slate.
